Itinerary THE NATURE GRAZE TRAIL Slow your city pace, and recoup this winter. Huddle up in West Gippsland, where an abundance of bushwalks, comfort food and wine awaits.
1 - VUE AT JINDIVICK Rise slowly to a breakfast of homemade provisions at this off-grid bed and breakfast in the cloud-cloaked hills of Jindivick. Cosy up by the log-fire in the lounge, or take to the on-site walking trail if you’re feeling lively.
12PM Cannibal Creek Winery 260 Tynong North Road Tynong VIC (03) 5942 8380
2 - CANNIBAL CREEK WINERY Head to Tynong where this cellar door is plating up a French-inspired menu featuring local produce. Start with wine tastings, progress to lunch, then pocket some cheese for the road.
2PM Toorongo Falls 383/640 Toorongo Valley Rd Noojee VIC
3 - TOORONGO FALLS This easy rainforest walk winds past tall gums, dense ferns and moss-cloaked boulders to arrive at its namesake rushing waterfall. You can also continue up to Amphitheatre Falls for a two-in-one waterfall experience.
4 - NOOJEE TRESTLE BRIDGE Stop by this historic railway bridge on your way south (perhaps pausing to enjoy that cheese at the top). The only sounds here are birds singing, a creek trickling and leaves rustling.
5 - HOGGET KITCHEN End your day on the outskirts of Warragul, where the wine takes natural leanings, and the (delicious) food is shaped by local ingredients
